The Trade Union of Railway Workers and Transport Construction Workers of Ukraine is 33 years old!
Over the years, our trade union has succeeded in concluding the Sectoral Agreement, collective bargaining agreements for structural/production units, regional branches and branches of Ukrzaliznytsia, and in including all the available conditions and guarantees in them. And despite the difficult wartime, we are restoring them in a legal manner.
It is our trade union that is fighting for changes to Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Organisation of Labour Relations under Martial Law’ so that no other employer can use it to suspend certain provisions of collective bargaining agreements.
The lawyers and specialists of our trade union provide professional advice, support individual labour disputes of railway workers, prepare legal opinions and legally reasoned appeals, appeal against illegal actions of the employer in courts and represent the interests of employees.
We engage academics and experts to prepare for complex court cases and to draft legislation. Our arguments and changes in favour of railway workers are supported by deputies, representatives of the Government and specialised committees, and international organisations.
We are constantly in negotiations with the company’s administration to increase salaries, pay health benefits in full, restore suspended social benefits, preserve human resources, increase bonuses for various professions, etc.
The strength of the trade union depends on the personal activity and principled position of each railway worker. Times change, so do we. The strength is in the unity!
