Today is a special day. The day dedicated to those who make us wake up in the morning and plane for the future. It is the day of our defenders. Ukraine’s Armed Forces Day.
It is a holiday of indomitability and strength of spirit, courage and bravery, devotion and self-sacrifice. It is a holiday of those who have become the shield of Ukraine and defend it on land, in the sky and on the water.
More than 11,000 employees from our railway family have joined the Armed Forces. Almost every Ukrainian family has a military member. We are proud of each of them, and our hearts ache for them. We ask St Nicholas, whose feast day also falls on today, to protect and preserve our soldiers, bring them warmth, hope and faith. We are grateful to them and know that our ‘Thank you!’ will never be enough. We wish our soldiers strong spirit, health and resilience!
We bow our heads to honour the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine.
