A series of first aid trainings for railway workers is underway at the trade union, organised by the international non-governmental humanitarian organisation IsraAID Ukraine.
The training programme takes a full day, so IsraAID has also taken care of the participants’ meals during breaks. Upon completion of the training, all participants received certificates and, just as importantly, first aid kits.
Last week, 20 employees of the Centre for Construction, Installation and Maintenance of Buildings and Structures branch of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC acquired the skills they need. At the end of July, a group of employees of the Centre for Track Construction and Repair had already completed such training.
Professional instructors taught the participants how to stop bleeding, carry out resuscitation, use a defibrillator, and demonstrated how to act in different situations. In the context of war and constant shelling, this is important because you can provide first aid without fear, and perhaps even save a person’s life.
The chairman of the trade union, Oleksiy Semerun’, met with the participants of the training, thanked everyone for their participation and expressed his hope that they would have no occasion to apply this knowledge. He also informed them about the acute problems that the trade union is currently addressing.
