This day symbolizes the establishment of continuity in the thousand-year history of the Ukrainian state. The day when we honor the heroic deeds of our ancestors and everyone who is fighting for freedom, liberty and independence of a strong and democratic state today.

Glory to Ukraine and glory to its Heroes!

According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy dated 24.08.2021 No. 423/2021, the public holiday was celebrated on July 28, the day of memory of the Kyivan statesman, Prince Volodymyr the Great, and the Day of the Baptism of Rus-Ukraine. However, in 2023, in connection with the transition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine to the New Julian calendar, the date of the holiday was shifted to July 15.
