During the training, organised at the invitation of the trade union by the international non-governmental humanitarian organisation IsraAID Ukraine, 20 employees of the Centre for Construction and Repair of Engineering Structures branch of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC took a one-day training course in first aid. They learnt the algorithm of actions in various situations in case of emergencies at work, at home, during road accidents, on the street, etc., and were able to practice it.
Oleksiy Semerun, chairman of the trade union, together with IsraAID Ukraine instructors, presented the participants with the relevant certificates.
At the end of the training, the participants shared their positive feedback:
Olga, energy engineer
‘It was really interesting and I learnt a lot about first aid. The trainers are real professionals. Everything is clear and accessible. Now I know how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and how to use a defibrillator. I believe that such training will be useful for everyone. I recommend it to my colleagues.’
Vitaliy, master of construction and installation works
‘I’ve heard a lot about such trainings before, and I wanted to try it myself one day, and this was the opportunity. Many things were a revelation for me, and I am sure that if it hadn’t been for this training, I would have acted differently. It is also worth noting the good organisation: the training was held in a safe place, which, as we learned, serves as a shelter in case of air raids, and coffee was available during breaks, and even a hot lunch was provided. So we thank the union and IsraAID for the training.’
