Partnership and cooperation was the main goal of the meeting, which was initiated by the Trade Union of Railway and Transport Builders of Ukraine together with the Compulsory State Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine for Unemployment. The discussion was joined by representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia and the Kyiv City Employment Centre.
The Ukrainian labour market is most in demand for skilled workers in blue-collar occupations. Ukrzaliznytsia is no exception among employers. And since our country has introduced effective employer support programmes during martial law to compensate for labour costs for the employment of IDPs, registered unemployed, and young people, as well as the actual costs of arranging jobs for people with disabilities, this can be a significant help in directing state compensation funds to employees’ salaries, retraining (free training vouchers), assistance in re-arranging jobs for veterans, etc.
The meeting resulted in an agreement to introduce a pilot project in the structural production units of the regional branch of Southwestern Railway.
Natalia Zemlyanska, Chairman of the Board of the Mandatory State Unemployment Insurance Fund of Ukraine, said: ‘Our cooperation should be aimed at meeting the needs of both employers and employees.’ Oleksiy Semerun’, chairman of the trade union, added that it is important for us to establish cooperation not only at the capital level, but also at the regional level.
The meeting was attended by Dmytro Novytskyi, Director of the Kyiv City Employment Centre, and specialists from the State Employment Service; Tatiana Shcherbakova, Deputy Director of the Regional Branch for Human Resources and Social Policy at the South-Western Railway Regional Branch; Irina Osichenko, Deputy General Director for Human Resources at Kyiv Electric Locomotive Repair Plant; and Tatiana Savchenko, Head of Human Resources at the Centre for Construction and Repair of Engineering Structures Branch.
