The Youth Council of the Southern Railway Trade Union has initiated a charity event by issuing another series of postage stamps dedicated to the electric rolling stock of Ukrainian railways.

The proceeds from the sale of the stamps will be donated to the Iron Family Foundation, which helps railway workers affected by the war.

Project idea and implementation

The idea belongs to Yuriy Vereshchaka, chairman of the youth council of the road trade union, an electric locomotive driver at the Kharkiv-Holovne electric locomotive depot. We have already told you how three years ago, for charity, he launched a series of stamps ‘Electric Rolling Stock of Ukrainian Railways’ at his own expense. At that time, he spent part of the money received for the stamps to help his colleagues at the depot.

“We want to create something not only beautiful but also practical. The idea emerged in 2022 as we thought about how to spark interest in the railway, expand people’s knowledge of railway equipment in an engaging, unconventional way, and make it beneficial for railway workers. These stamps unite art with support for those in need,” said Yuriy Vereshchaka.

How to join the campaign?

Charity stamps can be purchased

– at charity fairs organised by the youth council of the road trade union;

– on the olx and Violity websites;

by contacting Yuriy Vereshchaka on Facebook, Telegram or by writing to mashinistuz@gmail.com.

Soon, a special website will be launched where people will be able to buy the stamps designed on Yuriy’s initiative for charity.

The cost of the set is symbolic, but every hryvnia brings the young people closer to achieving their goal.

Together for positive change

The young people of Southern Railway call on everyone who cares to join the campaign. ‘Together we can not only support those in need, but also show that our youth is the engine of change in society,’ the organisers added.
