On 4 January 2025, the Law of Ukraine No. 4158-IX dated 18.12.2024 ‘On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Compulsory State Social Insurance’ was published.
The Law comes into force on 4 April 2025.
MAIN CHANGES:
Temporary disability benefits (including care for a sick child) and maternity benefits will be provided not only at the main place of work, but also at the place of part-time work.
The Pension Fund is obligated to make insurance payments if the insurer has not fulfilled its obligations towards the insured person:
- due to the inability to determine the location of such an insurer (current legal provision);
- as a result of force majeure circumstances during the period of martial law or a state of emergency (new legal provision).
It is provided for the possibility of insurance payments and the provision of social services by the Pension Fund at the place of residence/stay of the insured person:
- internally displaced persons from temporarily occupied territories;
- IDPs from the territories where military operations are ongoing (were ongoing);
- Persons whose housing was destroyed or damaged (to the point of being uninhabitable) as a result of actions caused by the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.
